Long-term Measurement of Foot Placement during Walking Using Imus
نویسندگان
چکیده
MOTIVATION Foot placement and its variability can serve as indicators of mobility and walking ability as a function of age, injury, and disease in humans. Inertial measurement units (IMU) can potentially quantify foot motion without need for laboratorybased motion capture equipment, and for relatively long bouts of walking during daily living. One limitation is that integration of IMU data is sensitive to drift, referring to accumulation of errors from noisy data.

Long-term Measurement of Foot Placement and Its Variability during Walking
Foot placement and its variability can serve as indicators of mobility and walking ability as a function of age, injury, and disease. Inertial measurement units (IMU) can potentially quantify these parameters without need for laboratory-based motion capture equipment, and for relatively long bouts of walking or during daily living. One limitation is that integration of data from inertial sensor...
متن کاملAmbulatory estimation of foot placement during walking using inertial sensors.
This study proposes a method to assess foot placement during walking using an ambulatory measurement system consisting of orthopaedic sandals equipped with force/moment sensors and inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes). Two parameters, lateral foot placement (LFP) and stride length (SL), were estimated for each foot separately during walking with eyes open (EO), and with eyes closed ...

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the two models of marker placement for identifying of rear foot angle in normal people with and without shoes during the different stage of stance phase of walking. Methods: Fifteen male students in Birjand University were selected based on Navicular Drop Index. After marker placement based on Clarke and Nigg models, the rear foot angle wer...
متن کاملValidity and repeatability of inertial measurement units for measuring gait parameters.
Inertial measurement units (IMUs) are small wearable sensors that have tremendous potential to be applied to clinical gait analysis. They allow objective evaluation of gait and movement disorders outside the clinic and research laboratory, and permit evaluation on large numbers of steps. However, repeatability and validity data of these systems are sparse for gait metrics. The purpose of this s...
متن کاملComparison of Foot Pressure Variables in Blind and Healthy Participants with Open and Closed Eyes While Walking
Introduction: Measurement of foot pressure variables can be used to assess the loads to which the human body is subjected in normal activities, like walking, or in more demanding situations such as sports. The purpose of this study was to compare the foot pressure variables in blind and healthy individuals with open and closed eyes during walking. Methods: The present study was a quasi-experim...
